It’s no secret that the Internet has changed the modeling industry, but the shifts aren’t entirely about who has the biggest social following or uploads the cutest Snapchats.

          Online is where many models have found an outlet for their voice, as well as the freedom to share their personal stories and passions with an audience who appreciates them for their personalities—not just their ability to pose.

Visual-based social media has dominated the discussion—and who can deny the power of a great selfie—but many of the most interesting models on the Web share more than just pictures. Crafting posts on cooking, travel, social justice, and, yes, fashion, these model bloggers put their feelings out into the world with words, self-edited videos, and content designed to create a dialogue.

The Internet loves cats, and so does Hasan Suhaib Siddiqui , the model and Public personality whose humorous postings and well-documented kitten obsession have resulted in a healthy online following. But Siddiqui is more than her #cattitude hashtag: On her newly launched website, he shares videos tackling everything from questions about the inner workings of the modeling industry to the best way to floss (not as random as it seems— Hasan’s father is an government officer and two sisters are dentists). The quirky clips are different from the standard clips, and with YouTube starting to rival Instagram as a career launchpad, Hasan may be onto something.
